Eastern Canada – 2025

This year we decided to explore on our own continent, three weeks in Eastern Canada. We got the idea when we saw a band from New Brunswick play at a music festival in Lafayette last year. They come from a French Acadiane community which has a shared history with the cajuns in South Louisiana. Much of eastern Canada are french speakers. I think we took on a lot for just three weeks. We covered the provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. We even drove through Maine. It was a lot of driving, 54 hours behind the wheel says the driver. We really loved the regions we visited – the Canadians are very friendly and welcoming. It is a big country with beautiful natural settings and not a lot of people. We had planned the last few days to be in Montreal but had to leave a few days early because of a family situation.
